Subhashree Attends Deshu7 Special Screening With Raj, Dev Praises His Support

A special screening of the much-discussed film 'Deshu7', starring Dev and Subhashree Ganguly, was held at a heritage theatre in south Kolkata. Subhashree attended the screening with her husband, director Raj Chakraborty.

Ever since the film's name was announced, social media discussion and trolling about Dev and Subhashree's past life began. The discussion peaked before the release, and allegations arose that Dev had used the past relationship to promote the film.

Meanwhile, 'Deshu7' is doing well at the box office. The report said Subhashree arriving at the special screening with Raj dismissed rumours of distance between her and her husband.

Dev and Subhashree were seen in matching outfits at the screening. Raj arrived on his own and watched the whole film. After the show, Dev and Subhashree spoke to the media about professionalism, Raj's contribution and the trolling.

Praising Raj Chakraborty's role, Dev said, "Raj has been celebrating and supporting this film from day one. If Raj had not supported it, this film would not have happened at all."

Dev added, "In Bengali cinema's mass and commercial genre, Raj Chakraborty is a huge brand. No one understands better than Raj how hard it is to make this kind of film. He himself came to the theatre and watched the film, which is a big thing for us."

Subhashree said, "The commercial cinema challenge we are taking today — Dev's and our beginning itself was through Raj Chakraborty's hands. He has always stood by commercial cinema." On Raj's reaction, she said he liked the first half very much and the rest would be discussed after returning home.

On trolling over their past relationship and personal lives, Subhashree said, "We have no focus at all on all this negativity. So there is no question of separately maintaining focus." Both Dev and Subhashree said their professional bonding is completely perfect.

The Dev-Subhashree pair once debuted in Tollywood through Raj Chakraborty's 2009 film 'Challenge'; that first film itself stormed the box office. The pair then delivered hits such as 'Poran Jay Joliya Re' and 'Khokababu'. When their real-life relationship later broke up for an unknown reason, the screen pair broke up too.

After that breakup, Subhashree entered a relationship with director Raj Chakraborty and they married in 2020. They have a son and a daughter. Dev has not married yet.
