Actress Navika Kotia's Wedding Called Off Six Months After Engagement

Indian actress Navika Kotia's wedding has been called off six months after her engagement. The actress, known for the film English Vinglish, had got engaged to businessman Mazen Modi in January this year.

According to a Times of India report, the wedding of Navika and Mazen was called off in the first week of July. The couple had exchanged rings and were planning to marry next year. A lack of mutual understanding was cited in the report as the reason behind the decision.

A source close to the couple told the Times of India that the match had been arranged by their families. Their 'gol dhana' ceremony — a Gujarati ritual held on the occasion of an engagement — took place in January. Although the wedding was planned for next year, various problems began to surface afterwards.

According to the source, the two realised that there were many differences between them and therefore decided to part ways. The source added that there is no bitterness surrounding the separation and that both are moving on with their own lives.

Navika and Mazen first met through a friend. After she met Mazen's parents a couple of times, the families raised the question of marriage. Navika agreed to the match in keeping with her family's wishes.

A small 'roka' ceremony was held in November 2025. The couple then got officially engaged in January 2026. At the family-arranged engagement, Mazen placed a ring on Navika's finger in film style.

Navika herself has not yet commented on the called-off wedding. According to the report, she has so far maintained silence on the matter.

Navika Kotia became known in Bollywood for playing Sridevi's daughter in the popular film English Vinglish. She also gained wide recognition on television for acting in the popular Hindi serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and has acted in several Tamil and Telugu films.
