Coke Studio Bangla heads to university campuses: competition at more than 15 campuses, concerts at the top three
The popular Bangla fusion music platform Coke Studio Bangla is moving out of the studio and onto university campuses. The inter-university competition titled 'Coke Studio Bangla On Campus' will feature a special contest and concerts.
The competition has started at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT). It will reach other universities in the country in phases.
The competition, which began on October 26, will run until December 1. Students from more than 15 universities will take part in music, voting and campus-based contests.
Special Coke Studio Bangla concerts will be held at the three universities that receive the highest votes in the competition.
Coke Studio Bangla authorities said that to take part, students who buy Coca-Cola, Sprite or Fanta from their campus canteen will receive a scratch card with a unique code. Using that code on the campaign microsite, they can vote for their own university.
A live leaderboard will show the progress of the competition. Each of the three highest-voted universities will get the chance to host a special concert on its own campus.
Alongside voting, the 'Find the Next Campus Performer' segment will let students showcase their musical talent. At a dedicated Coke Studio Bangla recording studio kiosk on campus, they can record a cover performance of any Coke Studio Bangla song.
That recording must be shared on social media tagging Coke Studio Bangla, and the video link submitted on the campaign website. From each winning university, the student with the best performance and the highest social media engagement will get the chance to sing at the campus concert.
Layla Farzana, Marketing Director of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Limited, said Coke Studio Bangla has always brought people together through music and celebrated talent, and that through 'Coke Studio Bangla On Campus' they want to take that experience closer to young people and let them take part in their own way.
Coke Studio began its journey in Bangladesh in 2022. The platform's YouTube subscribers have passed 4 million and views of its songs have exceeded 750 million.
