The admission test for first-year undergraduate (honours) classes at Jahangirnagar University for the 2026-27 academic year will be held between 10 and 21 January.

Deputy Registrar of the university's education branch Ali Reza confirmed the information on Wednesday (28 October).

Ali Reza said the first meeting on the admission test was held on Wednesday. Several decisions on organising the upcoming test were taken at the meeting.

Under the decision, the test will be held from 10 January to 21 January. During that period, tests will be taken on working days except Fridays and Saturdays.

The test will not be held at divisional level this year. It will be held under the university-centred system, the deputy registrar said.

He said the Academic Council had earlier decided to hold the test at divisional level. However, the test will not be held that way this year.

The admission test fee was discussed at the meeting but no final decision was taken. Ali Reza said a decision on the fee will be taken at the next meeting.

He also said observations concerning the admission test results are still pending. As a result, nothing final can be said yet about whether the fee will change.

The unit arrangement for this year's test will remain the same as last year. However, the meeting decided that the Law Department will this time take part in the admission test under the Faculty of Social Sciences.
