Bangladesh has won a gold medal in the second leg of the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament held in Iraq. Bangladesh's archers became champions by beating Kazakhstan 6–2 in set points in the final of the recurve men's team event.

In the competition held in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq, on Thursday (October 29), Abdur Rahman Alif, Md Sagar Islam and Abdullah Al Mohammad Rafi took part for Bangladesh. Martin Frederick is in charge as the team's coach.

Bangladesh did not, however, start the final well. Alif, Sagar and Rafi fell behind 50–53 points in the first set.

But they quickly turned around and took control of the match. After winning the second set 55–54 points, Bangladesh moved ahead in the third set by 55–52.

Bangladesh also won the fourth set 52–51 points to secure the gold medal. After the four-set contest, the result stood at 6–2 in set points.

Despite falling behind at the start, Bangladesh's archers secured the victory through consistent performance and teamwork.

The Bangladesh Archery Federation congratulated the gold-winning team's archers, coach and officials concerned. The federation hopes this success on the international stage will inspire the country's archers to do even better and smooth the path to success in future competitions.
