A court has ordered Nuruzzaman Mintu, son of Abdul Aziz, the member of parliament for the Natore-4 constituency, to be sent to jail after three days of remand in the murder case of Chhatra Dal leader Shakil Islam in Gurudaspur, Natore.

When Mintu was produced before the court on Friday afternoon (30 October), Senior Judicial Magistrate Saddam Hossain of the Natore Judge Court ordered him to be sent to jail.

Meanwhile, acting on information given by Mintu, the district Detective Branch (DB) of police has detained two more people for questioning. They are Alamin Hossain (26) of Dharabarisha village in Gurudaspur upazila and Anisur Rahman (25) of the Kochugari area. They were detained from their homes early on Friday.

The two detainees are said to be followers of Rasel Hossain, an expatriate living in the United States. Sources concerned also said Mintu is close to Rasel.
