The pass rate in this year's HSC examinations under the Dinajpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has fallen to the lowest level in the board's history. The pass rate this year stands at 45.98 percent. Alongside the pass rate, the number of students securing GPA-5 has also declined.

On Saturday (31 October), the board's controller of examinations, Professor Md. Borhan Uddin, presented the statistics of the HSC results at a briefing.

According to the statistics, a total of 111,787 students from 668 colleges across eight districts sat the examinations under the board this year. Of them, 51,398 students passed.

A total of 2,953 students secured GPA-5 from the board this year. Among them, 1,383 are male students and 1,570 are female students.

According to the result statistics, students of six colleges achieved a 100 percent pass rate. In contrast, not a single student passed from 49 colleges.

The board's statistics also said that students of the science group performed well in the results this year.

The decline is also clear when compared with the results of the past seven years. According to the board's statistics, the pass rate was 100 percent in 2020, when no examination was held because of Covid.

In 2021, when examinations were held in three elective subjects in all groups, the pass rate stood at 92.43 percent. After that, 79.08 percent passed in 2022, 74.48 percent in 2023, 77.56 percent in 2024 and 57.49 percent in 2025.

Continuing that sequence, the pass rate falling to 45.98 percent this year has been identified as the lowest in the history of the Dinajpur board.
