Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon has stressed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology in teacher training. He said skilled and talented teachers are the ones who can build the Bangladesh of tomorrow.
He made the remarks on Monday (November 2) as chief guest at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony of the 210th foundation training course at the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) in the capital.
The minister said modern, technology-based training must be emphasised to make teachers more skilled. For that, he said, NAEM must arrange state-of-the-art technology-based teacher training.
He said AI and modern technology are bringing change to the education system. If AI cannot be used properly, he said, we will fall behind. The use of AI must therefore also be given importance in teacher training.
The minister said many teachers have still not completed their training. They must be brought under training quickly, he said.
Before the ceremony, he exchanged views with the trained teachers and enquired about different aspects of the training. He later handed honours to the best trainees in different categories.
The ceremony was presided over by NAEM director general Professor Dr Wasim Md Mezbahul Hoque, with NAEM director Professor Prim Rizvi as special guest.
