'Baby Doll' singer Kanika Kapoor's second marriage ends after four years, she announces separation on Instagram

The second marriage of popular singer Kanika Kapoor, known for 'Baby Doll', has ended. Although she had married for love, she has drawn the line on four years of married life. In a post on her Instagram story, the artist announced the end of her marriage to her husband Gautam Hathiramani.
Issuing a statement announcing the end of her four-year marriage, Kanika Kapoor said, addressing her dear friends and family, that after much thought and consideration she and her husband had decided to separate.
Expressing gratitude to her husband for the time they spent in married life, she said she was grateful to him for the time they spent together and wished him well for the days ahead.
Appealing to everyone, Kanika Kapoor said they were moving forward on new paths in life and requested everyone to be empathetic and respectful towards their personal lives. She did not, however, say why they had separated.
Kanika had known London-based businessman Gautam Hathiramani for about 15 years, but their romantic relationship developed only long after they first met. In an earlier interview, Kanika had said she proposed marriage to Gautam twice, first in 2014 and again in 2020. Later, in August 2021, Gautam proposed to her.
They married in London on May 20, 2022. The wedding formalities were completed in the presence of close friends and family members.
Kanika's first marriage was to London-based businessman Raj Chandok. In 1998, at the age of just 18, she married Raj. The marriage produced three children, two daughters, Ayana and Samara, and a son, Yuvraj. Kanika divorced Raj in 2012. After the divorce she returned to India and focused on music.
Her three children from her first marriage were also present at her wedding to Gautam. Her son Yuvraj led his mother by the hand to the wedding stage, while her two daughters Ayana and Samara were beside their mother at the ceremony.
Born and raised in Uttar Pradesh, Kanika Kapoor began singing in childhood. In 2014 she gained wide fame singing 'Baby Doll' in the Sunny Leone-starring film 'Ragini MMS 2'. The song, composed by Meet Bros, helped establish her as a Bollywood playback singer.
The same year she sang 'Lovely' in 'Happy New Year', starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Her other popular songs include 'Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan' from 'Roy', 'Desi Look' from 'Ek Paheli Leela', 'Nachan Farrate' from 'All Is Well' and 'Da Da Dasse' from 'Udta Punjab'.
