Pakistani Actress Kinza Hashmi to Star Opposite Shakib Khan in 'Mohabbat', Official Announcement Still Awaited
Pakistani model and actress Kinza Hashmi is set to star opposite Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan in his upcoming film 'Mohabbat'. Sources involved with the production claim that the initial agreement formalities with the actress have also been completed. However, neither director Himel Ashraf nor production company Versatile Media has officially announced the casting yet.
Over a 27-year acting career, Shakib Khan has been paired with more than seventy heroines from home and abroad. Kinza Hashmi's inclusion would add another new name to that list.
Since the film was formally announced in the first week of October, speculation has been rife in entertainment circles over who would play the female lead. Names of popular Pakistani actresses Hania Amir, Sajal Aly, Yamna Zaidi and Dur-e-Fishan Saleem were heard at first, but sources claim none of them was chosen and Kinza Hashmi was finalised instead.
To keep the promotional surprise intact, the first poster concealed the heroine's face, showing only a hand draped in a red scarf and white attire. The new heroine is expected to be introduced to audiences soon at a grand event.
Kinza Hashmi began her acting journey in Pakistan's entertainment industry in 2014 through television drama. She earned audience praise and recognition playing Rushna in the serial 'Ishq Tamasha'. She later acted in 'Gul-o-Gulzar', 'Mohlat', 'Dil Awaiz', 'Hook', 'Mere Ban Jao' and the telefilm 'Rooposh'. Besides television, she has acted in two films, 'Kattar Karachi' and 'Shiros', and is also known in the modelling world.
A foreign actress opposite Shakib Khan is nothing new. Tollywood's Srabanti, Subhashree, Paoli Dam, Swastika, Sayantika, Mimi Chakraborty and Idhika Paul, along with Bollywood's Sonal Chauhan, have previously shared the screen with him.
The Shakib Khan and director Himel Ashraf pair previously cast Kolkata's Idhika Paul in 'Priyotoma' and American actress Courtney Coffey in 'Rajkumar'. A Pakistani actress has now reportedly been added in that same tradition.
Shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in the first week of January next year. The production company plans to finish the work and release the film in cinemas on Eid-ul-Azha 2027.
