Saif Says Kareena Shouted 'Stop, Stop' Every Two Seconds on Their First Bike Ride
Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has described a funny memory of his first bike ride with Kareena Kapoor on the stage of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 18'. Speaking with host Amitabh Bachchan, Saif said that when he first took Kareena out on a bike early in their relationship, he realised that she did not actually like riding on a bike.
Ahead of the release of the film 'Haiwaan', its cast and crew appeared on the quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 18', hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. The makers of the show recently released an unpublished video from that episode.
In the video released by Sony TV, Amitabh said information about 'Haiwaan' actor Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor riding a bike had come up on his computer. Saif then recalled the memory of that first bike ride with Kareena.
Saif said that early on, he and Kareena did not talk very much. They only remained polite with each other as co-actors. Then someone told him to ask Kareena to go for a bike ride, saying she liked motorcycles very much.
Saif said that because the roads in Ladakh are very beautiful, he rented a bike. He used to travel to the shooting set wearing headphones. He then asked Kareena whether she wanted to go for a ride on the bike. Kareena said yes, she very much wanted to, and that she liked bikes. Saif then took her out for a ride.
Looking at his co-actor Akshay Kumar, Saif described what happened once the bike started moving. Every two seconds, he said, Kareena dug her nails into his back and kept saying, stop, stop, stop, stop, not so fast, not so fast.
Saif said Kareena later told him that she did not like riding on a bike at all. Saif then asked her why they were sitting on the bike at all. He said it then occurred to him that perhaps something else was going on. They liked each other, he said, but she did not like the bike.
Everyone present, including Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, burst out laughing at Saif's recollection. In the same episode, Saif Ali Khan also won a two-year subscription for Gobardhan ghee.
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor married on 16 October 2012. They have two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Taimur is 9 years old and Jeh is 5.
