Seven top bands on one stage at Manik Mia Avenue on November 7, in a free open concert for all

Staff Reporter

Seven of the country's top bands will perform on one stage at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Saturday (November 7). The special open concert, titled 'Concert for Solidarity', is being organised by the government's Ministry of Cultural Affairs on the occasion of 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day', to be observed across the country that day.

The bands taking part in the concert are 'Nagarbaul', 'Warfaze', 'Miles', 'Shironamhin', 'Artcell', 'Mechanics' and 'Feedback'. The seven leading popular bands will perform on the same stage.

The organisers have said the gates of the concert venue will open to the general audience at 3pm on Saturday, and the main musical programme will begin at 4pm.

The performances by the seven bands will run for about seven hours in a row, the organisers said.

The entire event has been kept fully open to everyone. Music lovers from the general public will be able to enjoy the concert free of charge, without any ticket.

Over the past two years, the number of open-air concerts in the country has fallen sharply for various security reasons and constraints. Many large events were even cancelled at the last moment. After such a long lull, the initiative to stage an open concert with the country's seven most popular bands on one stage has created extra enthusiasm among listeners and audiences.

Popular heavy metal band 'Warfaze' has shared its feelings about the concert on social media. In a message to listeners, the band said unity and the spirit of solidarity would be celebrated through one city, one stage and seven iconic performances. It invited the people of Dhaka to join the musical event to celebrate harmony and fellowship through music.
