India's Union minister Jitendra Singh has levelled serious allegations against the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), accusing it of receiving foreign funding and having links with Pakistan. He made the allegations while speaking to journalists in Bengaluru on Wednesday (November 4).

Jitendra Singh said there was irrefutable proof that the Cockroach Party's founder, Abhijit Dipke, and its chief strategist, Ashutosh Rankar, were in contact with foreign donors. He claimed that unauthorized sources and various anti-India organizations at home and abroad were pouring money behind them.

The minister alleged that Abhijit Dipke was taking money from US-based donors, while Ashutosh Rankar was being paid directly by Pakistani politicians. He also claimed that some foreign-funded NGOs and 'deep state' conspirators were creating this narrative.

Jitendra Singh further said that several people linked to the CJP were trying to create unrest in India by bringing in money illegally from abroad. The allegations have triggered an intense political debate.

The opposition Congress countered that if that were the case, the government should show the proof. Party spokespersons said the government tries to fabricate such stories whenever someone speaks against it.

BJP national spokesperson Tuhin A Sinha told Indian news outlet NDTV that over the past month the CJP's programmes had aimed to create chaos in the capital during the festive season. In his words, there was a planned attempt to create an atmosphere of anarchy under the cover of protests, and the party's strategy was to create rebellion in society and anarchy in the capital.

Amid this political tension, two CJP spokespersons, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Rankar, were questioned for a long time on Thursday by the Delhi Police Crime Branch. They were questioned at the Rajouri Garden office on the basis of two FIRs over entering Jantar Mantar in Delhi without permission and hoisting the national flag.

Earlier, on October 22, they had been served notices to appear but had sought time, according to the report.
