Staff Reporter

Lahore in Pakistan tops today's list of the world's most polluted cities, with an air quality score of 458. Bangladesh's capital Dhaka stands fourth on the same list.

The figures were published at 8am on Friday (6 November) by IQAir, the Switzerland-based air quality website. Dhaka's Air Quality Index score in the morning was 194, which is considered 'unhealthy'.

India's Delhi is second on the list with a score of 244. Kolkata, capital of India's West Bengal state, is third with a score of 235.

IQAir, the Switzerland-based organisation, provides the live or instant index showing how clean or polluted a city's air is.

Under the organisation's standards, a score between zero and 50 means the air quality is good. A score of 51 to 100 is considered moderate or tolerable.

A score of 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. A score of 151 to 200 is considered 'unhealthy'. A score of 201 to 300 is considered 'very unhealthy', and anything above 301 is considered 'hazardous'.
