Date-palm sap collection begins in Dinajpur, tappers busy

With the arrival of winter, date-palm sap collection has begun in Dinajpur. Across the district, tappers are now busy collecting sap.

Activity among tappers has increased in 13 upazilas of the district, including Nawabganj and Fulbari. With the start of winter, preparations for sap collection are visible in every upazila.

Although tappers have little work for much of the year, their workload grows when winter arrives. Collecting sap from date-palm trees becomes their main work in this season.

Sap collection in the winter season is a familiar sight in the rural life of Dinajpur. The work of collecting sap will continue throughout the winter.
