Bangladesh did not start well after winning the toss and batting in the Mirpur Test. The hosts came under pressure from the start against controlled bowling by West Indies pacers Jayden Seales and Shamar Joseph. In the first hour of the match, Bangladesh were 34 for 1.

Bangladesh are, however, gradually recovering from that situation. At the time of reporting, Bangladesh were 60 for 1 after 19 overs. Mominul Haque was at the crease on 25, and opener Sadman Islam was batting on 26. The pair had already added 50 runs together.

Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim returned to the pavilion with the team score on just 7. The left-hander was caught in the slips off Jayden Seales. Tanzid tried to play a length ball outside off stump through the covers, but the ball took the outside edge and went to Greaves standing at second slip, who took the simple catch.

Seales and Shamar Joseph bowled with control with the new ball from the morning, giving Bangladesh's batters little chance to score easily. After Tanzid's dismissal, West Indies captain Roston Chase brought himself into the bowling, and Mominul and Sadman have had to play his off-spin carefully as well.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bat first. Experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim, however, did not make the eleven because of an injury picked up in last-minute practice before the match. Tawhid Hridoy got the chance in the eleven in his place.

Bangladesh have lined up with two pacers, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud, along with three spinners in their eleven.
