Gusty or squally winds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour may sweep over five regions of the country, the Meteorological Department has said. Rain or thundershowers are also likely in those regions at the time.

The information was given in the weather forecast issued for the country's inland river ports for Friday (30 October) from 5 am to 1 pm.

According to the forecast, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or southeast may pass over the Faridpur, Pabna, Jashore, Kushtia and Khulna regions.

In this situation, the river ports of those regions have been asked to hoist cautionary signal No. 1.

Meanwhile, the forecast for Dhaka and its adjoining areas from 7 am to 1 pm says the capital's sky may be partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy, with temporary rain likely in places.

During that period, winds in Dhaka may blow from the northeast or north at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, the forecast said.

According to the forecast, the daytime temperature may fall slightly.
