Not one of 22 examinees from four Jamalpur institutions passed the HSC

In Jamalpur, not a single one of the 22 examinees from four educational institutions passed this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. The pass rate of all four institutions is zero percent.
The information emerged on Saturday morning (31 October) from an analysis of the results published by the Mymensingh Education Board.
According to the board's results, six students sat the exam from Sripur Kumaria Nasuba Hakim Girls' School and College in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, and none of them passed.
Four students sat the exam from SM Shikha Mukhlesur Rahman College at Char Saguna in Ghosherpara Union of Melandah Upazila, and all of them failed. Last year too, none of that college's 10 examinees passed, so its pass rate has been zero for two consecutive years.
In addition, five students from Nabbachar High School and College in Madarganj Upazila and seven from Goalarchar High School and College in Islampur Upazila sat the exam, but none of them passed either.
The principal of Nabbachar High School and College said their institution is not yet MPO-listed. Because of that, teachers are engaged in other work to earn a living, so regular teaching is not possible. They will try to improve the situation in the future, he said.
Additional District Magistrate and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Afsana Taslim said they had learned of the zero pass rate at the district's four institutions. A thorough investigation will be carried out and a detailed report sent to the education board. Further legal and administrative steps will be taken based on the findings, she said.
