Hasan Mahmud is leading Bangladesh's pace attack in the Sylhet Test. After striking twice with the new ball at the start of the second day, he has now completed five wickets.

It is the fifth five-wicket haul of Hasan Mahmud's Test career. Taking five wickets in an innings on home soil, however, is a first for him.

The Bangladesh pacer last took five wickets against Afghanistan last October. He has now repeated that feat in Sylhet.

Hasan struck twice with the new ball right at the start of the day. First he bowled the centurion Amir Jangoo. Off the very next ball he sent back captain Roston Chase, caught behind the wicket.

Two wickets in two balls also created a hat-trick chance for Hasan. But Joshua Bishop survived by taking a review, and the chance went unfulfilled.

Bishop could not last long, however. Hasan dismissed him to complete his five wickets.

Hasan's five victims in this innings are Kavem Hodge, Kevin Wickham, Amir Jangoo, Roston Chase and Joshua Bishop.

After Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz also found success, dismissing Justin Greaves. His wicket was the first taken by a Bangladeshi spinner in this match.

Greaves had built the resistance for the West Indies in the first innings. But he was deceived by Miraz's flight and missed the line; the ball went straight on without turning much and hit the off stump. Greaves' innings ended on 51 runs.
