As many as 26,277 students have applied to the Jessore Education Board for re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of their HSC examination scripts. Together, these students have challenged the results of 97,618 papers.

The results of the re-scrutiny and re-evaluation will be published on 23 November, according to board sources.

The results of the 2026 HSC examinations were published on 31 October. Applications for script re-scrutiny and re-evaluation began the next day, 1 November.

The last date for applications had been fixed for Saturday (7 November). However, sources at the Jessore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education said that, because of server problems, the deadline was extended by a day, until 12 noon on 8 November, for the convenience of students.

The board's controller of examinations, Professor S M Hossain Ali, said that this year 26,277 students have applied for re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of 97,618 papers.

He said that, despite the short time available, preparations are under way to publish the results on the scheduled date of 23 November.

Compared with last year, the number of applications has risen. In 2025, 20,395 students had applied for re-scrutiny and re-evaluation of 36,205 papers.

The controller of examinations said that in 2025 the results of 216 students changed after the process.

According to board sources, the pass rate under the Jessore Education Board in the 2026 HSC examinations, published on 31 October, was 44.92 per cent.

Of the 117,510 students who sat the examinations, 66,944 failed. The low pass rate is believed to be behind the higher number of re-scrutiny applications this year.
